Beyond the Court: The Moments That Matter Most

This travel basketball season has felt like we've been moving at 100 miles per hour—especially in July, constant travel, late nights, early mornings, rinse and repeat. It’s been intense, exciting, and honestly, a little chaotic at times.
But today was different.
After our games wrapped up, we finally had a chance to slow down and just be together—off the court. No basketballs, no whistles, no scoreboard. Just the team hanging out, laughing, eating, sharing stories, and being kids. It was one of those moments that reminded me why we do all of this in the first place.
Basketball builds skills, sure—but more than that, it builds relationships. These moments of connection off the court are just as valuable as anything we do during the game. Sometimes, hitting pause and enjoying the people you grind with is exactly what a team needs to stay grounded and grow stronger.
Today, I’m grateful for the slower moments.
Special thanks to the Gorrell family for organizing this.
